Best friends Laurie Williams and Deborah Jelinek became fascinated by birds and the intricacy and natural beauty of feathers during their many nature outings and vacations together. Wanting to find a way to share the magnificence of feathers with others, they began experimenting with different media. After many hours of intense trial and error, they finally settled upon encasing feathers in glass by creating beveled window pendants. They call their business Featherdance Designs. A few years later, they decided to incorporate fall leaves into their portfolio and it became an instant hit.
People love the glass encased leaf art as it reminds them of the fall seasons they have enjoyed at home and/or during their travels. These numerous comments brought about the idea that more people would be touched by this "fine art of nature" so Laurie and Deborah have decided to market the art nationwide. They are greatly looking forward to capturing fall beauty for people to enjoy in the years to come, one state at a time!
Residing in central Texas, Laurie and Deborah exhibit their art at various upscale art shows throughout Texas and are anxious to get their work into more parts of the country. Aside from this wonderful art collaboration, each artist maintains a separate full time business. Laurie is a professional photographer, specializing in architectural work. Her website is http://lauriewilliamsphotography.com . Deborah has a web design business, specializing in creative services for musicians and artists. Her website is http://nexuscreativeservices.com.
